book me in for a discovery callcall dom cooper on 07387 260341I’m keen to sell my client portfolio but I’m not too sure about how any of this procedure works in practice – are you available to discuss details further?
Yes, of course. You can call us or book in a discovery call from the button below.
When will I receive payment after I have sold my bookkeeping client portfolio?
This depends upon the specific agreement that is reached between the seller and the buyer and can vary. However, often there is an initial payment upon completion or after the first month, followed by a further payment or payments an agreed number of months after completion.
Are there any fees to pay for selling? Who pays the brokers fees?
No, there are no fees at all for the seller. The buyer will pay an introduction fee to the broker.
What happens if some of the clients don’t want to move over to the new bookkeeper (buyer)?
The bookkeeping clients are not obligated to use the services of the new bookkeeper (buyer), since they can choose whoever they like to do the bookkeeping for them. However, we find that with a smooth transition and where there is a good fit between the client and the bookkeeper, that the vast majority of clients will very happily be transitioned to the new experienced bookkeeper who is in a position to take over effectively from where their previous bookkeeper left off.
What sort of fee payment could I get from selling my bookkeeping client portfolio?
This depends upon a number of variables including the size of the fees, the number and type of clients, time taken to do the work, the portability and the software used but ultimately a successful sale is about having a good match between the buyer and the seller. Buyers will have different ideas about what the value is to them and hence what they are prepared to pay once they have full knowledge of all the details but we are on hand to assist and advise to make sure that there is a fair deal for both parties.
I’m a bookkeeper and I’m looking to retire soon but I only have a handful of clients. Is it still worth trying to sell such a small portfolio?
Yes. Just make contact with us since we’re usually able to help even for the very smallest of bookkeeping client portfolios.
